United Nations “Champion of the Earth” Felipe Calderón headlines E-Volve

Vancouver, BC (November 17, 2021) E-Volve — a two-day conference during Canadian E-Fest will bring together thought leaders on sustainability from around the world.

On Thursday June 30th, former Mexican President, Felipe Calderón, President of the Environment and Sustainability Commission of the FIA (International Federation of the Automobile), will be headlining a roster of speakers that includes the likes of Erin Brockovich. Billed as “Champion of the Earth” by the United Nations, Calderón has focused his energy on promoting the economic benefits of reversing climate change, while becoming a leading voice on this important global issue since leaving his political post in 2012.

As Chair of the highly prestigious Global Commission on the Economy and Climate, President Calderón is at the forefront of a major international initiative that examines how to achieve sustainable economic prosperity with a new vision for addressing climate change, while generating economic growth and alleviating poverty.

“Formula E is a sport created with purpose – as is Canadian E-Fest. We are extremely honoured to have a visionary such as Former President Calderón join us in our inaugural event.” says OSS Group’s CEO Matthew Carter.

“We welcome the announcement of Former President Calderón as a speaker at the Canadian E-Fest. As a recognised leader within the sustainability movement his experiences will provide a new, insightful dynamic to the event. At the recent COP26 we showcased how the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is a driving force behind the adoption of sustainable technologies to accelerate sustainable human progress through the power of electric motorsport. As the first sport created with a true purpose of fighting the climate crisis ahead of us, we look forward to working alongside our Canadian partners – including OSS Group – to further this mission,” said Julia Pallé, Sustainability Director, Formula E.

The event is expected to top $80 million in economic value and create approximately 3,000 jobs.
